Your support and the future of Curbside
In a shocking display of hubris, we decided not to charge for garden plots or events. Why? Because the value we create shouldn't be reducible to those things. It should be diffuse, realized over time, and in the form of relationships built, interests pursued, skills acquired, and food insecurity not faced. This is a public good. Funding it through fees emphasizes the wrong thing. If we've brought value to your life, we trust you to help us continue.
We built Curbside on our personal savings, working full-time throughout 2026. Now that we've proven the concept, it's time to start earning money. The plan is to raise half through donations and half through products we sell (with a few grants sprinkled in). Our current goal is to raise $750 every 90 days. This won't be enough, but it will be a start.
As mentioned, we also plan to sell garden products of our own design and making. Far from a contradiction, this allows us to push transactionalism away from the real value we create, concentrating it in a market-driven arm that is both a pragmatic bet in pursuit of diversification and a strategic way to develop our manufacturing skillset — something that will be necessary if we're serious about transforming the boulevards. And we are.
